As much as I hope you’re diving into the gorgeousness of Wedding Row CA today, I also hope each of you are enjoying the company of friends, family, and a delicious cocktail to celebrate this amazing holiday. We were sent today’s touching engagement session awhile back by Jennifer Bagwell Photography and have been saving it for just the right occasion – today. I am touched in every way possible by this story and this beautiful couple. A big ‘thank you’ goes to Matt and Willow from Wedding Row CA for devoting your lives to our country. Here’s Matt and Willow’s amazing story, as told by Jennifer Bagwell:
Matt is in the Army and was not set to return until 10 days before the wedding and he is set to leave 10 days after the wedding for another deployment for 3 years! Matt and Willow really wanted a “real” wedding with an engagement session and everything so they’ve been putting in the hard work to make it happen! Typically a military couple in this situation goes to the courthouse or does something small but it’s their dream to have a real wedding. During the e-session Matt was thanked several times for his service just as we walked through town taking photos. It was so surreal to watch. When someone would come up to him he would perk up his body language and start in with the “Yes Sir” stuff as each patron walked by, shook his hand, and paid their respects. And then once they’d walk away he’d return to his normal posture and return his focus right back to Willow. You can just see how much he’s missed her and how much he loves her and vice versa.
